REVERSED RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS – 2 YEARS LATER

I went on the carnivore diet and reversed Rheumatoid Arthritis – 2 years later. At first, I thought the idea was ridiculous because it went against what I believed to be healthy. I was desperate though, so I was willing to try anything.

GUT PERMABILTY 

I always considered myself health conscious, and did every diet under the sun, plus supplements, remedies, and all kind of bio hacks – result?  High gut permeability as measured by PEG 400 test.  I was so upset by this failure of healthy living that I might have as well just eaten meat for a change. 

PALEO KETOGENIC DIET

Because I went with the testing, diet, and diagnosis from Paleomedicina (https://nutriintervention.com).  I also did their diet, which is a version of carnivore diet – Paleo Ketogenic Diet.

FIRST STRUGGLES

Before I went on the diet, I decided to quit coffee. It was an absolute torture for about a month and half. I felt barely alive, in a comma, watching life passing by. 

I did Wim Hof breathing method each time I felt like giving up. It worked, 1.5 month later I returned to life and didn’t need to drink coffee. 

EGGS AND PORK ARE FINE FOR ME

I was eliminating foods in stages. About one group of foods every 10 days or so. When I got my diet to consist of eggs, beef, pork, occasional fish and chicken, I healed. My Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) went into remission.

KETOSIS

PKD diet calls for continuous ketosis over 2. This wasn’t hard at first because I used to do conventional ketogenic diet.

But staying in ketosis was a whole another challenge.  For a few weeks at the end of the week I would start eating fruit. I always overdid it, and on Monday I was back to starting my PKD diet all over again. 

I got to the point where I couldn’t take this ketosis rollercoaster anymore. I pulled all my courage and will power to finally stick to the diet and lasted six months. 

MY JOINTS

My joints started improving right away, even though I kept breaking my ketosis with fruit. Two weeks into it, I felt a major relief: walking and moving around stopped being painful. Swelling and warmth in my joints went away too. I was able to jump again, although some stiffness persisted for a few more months.

MY HEALTH

When I went carnivore, I got a lot more than I bargained for. The pain from the joints went away, but also my allergies, chronic constipation, adrenal fatigue, and skin issues to name a few. I felt increase in overall wellbeing and my mood was great and consistent too.

REINTRODUCING FOODS

At some point, I decided to bring back some of the foods: fermented cabbage, fruit, and root vegetables. However, once I got the taste of these foods again, I went back to pure carnivore again. I sort of needed to know that I can eat what I would like to. 

Presently, during spring and summer I eat some fruit, root vegetables and for fall and winter I go back to pure carnivore. 

I stay away from grains, leafy greens and anything processed. 

CONCLUSION

Carnivore Diet is amazing if you are battling with autoimmune conditions and many other chronic diseases that conventional medicine has no answers to. 

Give it a try, only if for limited time.
